Taichung is about half the size of Taipei (about 1 million people). It sits on the western plains of the island, so, unlike Taipei and Keelung, it's got room to spread out. Even though it's also in Taiwan, I didn't feel quite so crowded in here. The downside to this great city is that it gets all the typhoons.
